Br. Birkeland
The Br. Birkeland subsidiary operates within both the farming and fishing segments.
In 2017 the farming operations were demerged from Br. Birkeland AS and transferred to the new company Br. Birkeland Farming AS.
Today, Br. Birkeland AS operations consist of a fleet of 4 vessels; 2 purse-seiner/trawlers and 2 crab fishing vessel. The new company Br. Birkeland Farming AS operates 7 salmon and trout farming and production licenses in Vestland Norway.
The founding of Br. Birkeland AS dates back to 1960 when five Birkeland brothers from Austevoll, Norway, started a fishing company. All of them with different backgrounds from the fishing industry.
